How many times a day do you say “be careful” to kids, wanting to make sure they stay safe?
We may not be as helpful as we think.
Experts argue that constantly telling kids to be careful may keep them from learning how to take risks or make mistakes. “Taking risks means sometimes failing,” explains parenting expert Jamie Glowacki. “If you never take a risk, if you play it safe all the time, you become afraid of making a mistake. You become afraid of failure.” And failure isn’t always a bad thing because getting out of your comfort zone can lead to success.

Volunteers are being invited to participate in the âplantingâ of hundreds of blue pinwheels at a downtown Greenville park, to honor and represent abused children in Hunt County.
The Hunt County Childrenâs Advocacy Center (CAC), Child Protective Services (CPS) and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) For Hunt County have scheduled the event for noon Friday at the SPOT Park at the corner of Wesley and Lee Streets. Those participating in the event are also invited to wear blue, in recognition of April as National Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month in Hunt County.

The twist and turns of the Mrs World pageant held on Sunday continues and to add another twist in this drama Pushpika de Silva holding a media conference today stated that she will take on the issue of divorcees contesting at the pageant to the world body.
However she also dropped a bombshell stating that she will pursue a political career and had also attempted to contest the Parliamentary elections from the Polonnaruwa District last time but she was not given nominations.
She stated that she has an intention of entering politics in the future. She further state that she will carry on her struggle as a single mother and stand in solidarity with them.
Meridian Police Introduce Child Abuse Prevention Vehicle
Child abuse isn t a topic that people like to discuss. It s a deep, dark secret that can go unnoticed for a lifetime. In the meantime, the cycle continues and so does the destruction of lives.
April is a month that we rise up and let people know, It shouldn t hurt to be a child. The cases during the pandemic were worse with cases actually reported. Police officers are some of the first on the scene and the Meridian Police made a strong statement for kids today, the official child abuse prevention vehicle.
The vehicle was unveiled this week with its own simple message, Prevent Child Abuse. The popular child handprint is side by side with the blue pinwheel (Pinwheels for Prevention.)
